Speaker: ZENIAL, The Social Committee “Chronicle of the Polish Demoscene”
We cordially invite you to a lecture on early digital cultures, prepared in a specially extended version. ZENIAL, a member of the Social Committee “Chronicle of the Polish Demoscene”, will present the history of the birth and development of these cultures, as well as their key influence on technologies and digital pop culture.
During the lecture, we will explore the genesis of the basic digital communities – hackers, crackers, phreaking and the demoscene. Particular attention will be paid to the demoscene: we will discuss its creation and specific features, as well as how it was perceived in Poland under the more common name of “computer scene”.
The lecture will be an opportunity to understand the interconnections of these communities and their influence on the development of, for example, gamedev and broadly understood mass culture We invite everyone interested in the history of technology and digital pop culture to this event.
